dealers from across western Canada, plus select dealers from Ontario and
Quebec.

The
Fall show extends the tradition. Best of the West means
insistence on quality, super variety with dealers who seldom do BC shows, and
spacious, bright and comfortable surroundings.
November 2007 show
highlights:
 Nine
new dealers are coming to Abbotsford for the big show. Combined with the
show’s regular dealers, this will be the largest show at Tradex in several
years. New faces and lots of fresh merchandise.
Check out the new dealers:
Part of the fun at the Tradex show is to see who’s new and what they
have. Visitors will find several new faces this time, including the
following:
Tracey and Lew Nillson, Pioneer Furniture, Surrey, BC. This father and
daughter team specializes in refinishing and restoring Canadiana
furniture. They will have refinished pieces for sale at the show, and in
addition, will be happy to discuss your refinishing projects.
Goretti
Lee Roberts, Imperial Gallery, Surrey, BC. Lee Dick Fan (1909-2001) was a
dedicated collector of Oriental Art and Antiques. Over 60 years he
accumulated a great collection of valuable pieces from China, Hong Kong,
Macau and Taiwan. Qualified to give appraisals by the Beijing Museum, his
knowledge and experience in the field of antiques was encyclopaedic. His
collection is being offered for sale by Goretti Lee Roberts.

Robert Laughlin, Kirkfield, Quebec. Laughlin specializes in good
quality vintage wristwatches – Patek, Rolex, Omega, etc. He also sells
estate jewellery.
Robin Williams, Hampshire Antiques, Vancouver. A long time
dealer on Granville Street, Robin sells fine English and European
furnishings, art and décor. He also sells a wide range of reference books
on a variety of antique collecting subjects. Faced with moving his store
to smaller quarters, Robin has to reduce his inventory of antique
reference books, so he will be offering a large selection of these books
at significant discounts at the Abbotsford show.

Popular
feature: Antiques
Identification clinic |

A very popular feature at previous shows, the antique identification
clinic returns to Best of the West this fall. The clinic will run
throughout both Saturday and Sunday.
A fascinating aspect of keeping family heirlooms is the fact that they
may have monetary value far beyond what their owners can imagine. Find
out more about your own heirlooms at Best of the West, Abbotsford.
The Identification clinic will feature Peter Blundell, Independent
Appraiser, author and lecturer on antiques. Peter’s career in antiques
has taken him throughout Europe, the USA and across Canada since 1969. Now
living in Vernon, he travels across the west, doing appraisal work.
How it works:
- Bring your items for appraisal. You may bring as many items as you
wish.
- On arrival, sign up for an appointment time. The Clinic operates
from 10 am until 5 pm both Saturday and Sunday.
- At your appointed time, meet with the expert and show him your
treasures.
- Fees: $10 per item.
